AL6061-T6 Aluminum bar is a round bar or flat bar made of 6061 aluminum alloy as the base material and strengthened by the T6 heat treatment process.
6061 aluminum alloy belongs to the Al-Mg-Si system of heat-treatable alloys. By adding elements such as magnesium and silicon to form the Mg2Si strengthening phase, combined with T6 solution treatment and artificial aging process, it possesses high strength, goede weerstand tegen corrosie, and excellent machinability, making it one of the most widely used aluminum alloy materials in industrial fields.
The T6 condition of AL6061-T6 aluminium staaf indicates that the material has undergone complete solution treatment (holding at 530℃±5℃ followed by rapid cooling) and artificial aging (holding at 175℃±5℃ for 8 uur). This process causes the uniform precipitation of the Mg2Si strengthening phase, significantly improving the material’s hardness and tensile strength.
Its typical mechanical properties are: tensile strength ≥290MPa, yield strength ≥240MPa, elongation ≥10%, and hardness exceeding HB95 (approximately 130HV). Simultaneously, de 6061 alloy contains 0.4%-0.8% silicon and 0.8%-1.2% magnesium, forming stable intermetallic compounds that maintain good plasticity and weldability while ensuring strength.
High-quality 6061 T6 aluminium staaf products should be free of defects such as pinholes and scratches, with strict tolerance control (e.g., diameter tolerance can reach ±0.05mm), and should pass international standard certifications such as ASTM B557 and EN 755.
Diameter and Length Selection: Common diameter ranges are 2.0mm-580mm, and lengths are 3.0mm-6000mm, which need to be determined based on load requirements and machining allowances.
