2024, 7075 and 7050 aluminum alloys are widely used in the manufacture of aerospace parts. Here are some of their characteristics and applications:

2024 aluminum alloy
Features: It is a high-strength aluminum alloy with a good strength-to-weight ratio and excellent fatigue resistance, suitable for parts subjected to high stress and cyclic loads. However, its corrosion resistance and weldability are poor, and special surface treatment is usually required to improve corrosion resistance.

Application: It is mainly used in aircraft wing and fuselage structures, such as wing beams, wing ribs, fuselage frames, etc. These parts need to withstand various loads during flight. The high strength and fatigue resistance of 2024 aluminum alloy can ensure the safety and reliability of the structure.

7075 Aluminum Alloy
Features: With zinc as the main alloying element, it is one of the strongest aluminum alloys, with strength comparable to many types of steel, but lighter. It has good deformation resistance and high fatigue strength, but average corrosion resistance, and relatively poor weldability and processing performance.

Application: Commonly used in aerospace components that are subject to high stress, such as aircraft landing gear, wing stringers, engine brackets, etc. Its high strength can meet the use requirements of these components under complex working conditions while reducing the overall weight of the aircraft.

7050 aluminum alloy
Features: It is a heat-treatable aluminum alloy with high mechanical properties and fracture toughness, and can maintain high strength even at low temperatures. It also has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and corrosion resistance, is less sensitive to quenching, can more effectively maintain strength, toughness and corrosion resistance in thick-section materials, and has relatively good processing performance.

Application: It is mainly used to manufacture aircraft fuselage frames, bulkheads and other structural parts, especially those with a thickness of 3 to 6 inches. Its excellent comprehensive performance can meet the requirements of aerospace structural parts for high strength, high toughness and good corrosion resistance.
