7075 aluminum Aerospace plate sheets or Aviation aluminum is mainly used in the construction of aircraft. Its hardness is relatively high, while the hardness of ordinary aluminum is relatively low.

7075 Aluminum Plate and Sheet
Legering 7075 has been the standard workhorse 7XXX series alloy within the aerospace industry. Zinc is the primary alloying element in 7075 and was the first successful Al-Zn-Mg-Cu high strength alloy using the beneficial effects of the alloying addition of chromium to develop good stress-corrosion cracking resistance in sheet products. 7075 Aluminum has a lower level of corrosion resistance and has no weldability, i.e. it is not weldable. This particular kind of alloy is known for its level of fatigue strength, imidlertid, it is only average when it comes to machinability.
7075 Aluminum Applications
7075 Aluminum is one of the highest strength aluminum alloys made for the industrial and consumer markets. Although other 7XXX alloys have since been developed, Legering 7075 remains the baseline with a good balance of properties required for aerospace applications. In terms of application, it is perfect for parts that have areas that are highly stressed. These specific strength properties are ideal for the construction of military grade rifles, plastic industry molds, bicycle part and equipment as well as aircraft structures.
7075 T651 Aluminum
7075 T651 Aluminum is also available and is best suited for aviation and aerospace applications. Ultimativt, if strength is what you need, this particular tempered alloy also has higher tensile strength.

Its weight-to-strength allows it to be used for high stressed parts. In the annealed condition, det 7075 aluminium can be formed using heat methods. It’s not good with cold working. Once formed, it’s recommended that heat treatment be used. The springback of this metal is greater when being formed. To help make this metal more easily formed while in the annealed condition, it can be placed in temperatures between 200 og 250 grader F. Heat treatments can be used to improve the hardness of this alloy. The properties of this alloy are excellent in low temperatures as well.
7075 materials generally add a small amount of copper, chromium and other alloys. Blandt dem, 7075-T651 aluminum alloy is particularly top-grade and is known as the best product among aluminum alloys. It has high strength and is far superior to any mild steel. This alloy also has good mechanical properties and anodic reaction. Representative uses include aerospace, mold processing, mechanical equipment, and tooling fixtures. It is especially used to manufacture aircraft structures and other high-stress structures that require high strength and strong corrosion resistance.
