5005 Aluminum Plate nominally indeholder 0.8% magnesium. It has medium strength, god svejsbarhed, and good corrosion resistance in marine atmospheres.
It also has the low density and excellent thermal conductivity common to all aluminium alloys. It is the most commonly used grade of aluminium in sheet and plate form.
5005 Aluminum is often used when the material will be anodized and deployed in an architectural application like flashings, sills, curtain walls etc.
5005 aluminium alloy plate is an aluminium alloy with good resistance to atmospheric corrosion. It is used in decorative and architectural applications.
It is a member of the 5000 series of aluminum-magnesium wrought alloys. Som sådan, it is not used in casting. It can attain moderate to high strength by cold working, and has relatively high welded strength compared to other aluminum alloy families. Tempers H116 and H321 can be used in fresh and salt water.
